I am confident that I will be a good leader for Centre County. I believe that leadership should be transparent and non-fragmented. Your County Commissioners must be able to communicate with all of the other Commissioners and local Representatives, regardless of political party, in order to set aside their personal agendas or ambitions for the greater good of the County. Politics as usual, with finger pointing and self-serving actions is of no benefit to the residents of this County.
I am up for that challenge. For the past 15 years I have been an owner/partner and hands-on project supervisor for my successful local construction company. My business partner and I have survived these past dire years for the construction industry without laying off any of our fine staff, leaving us in an excellent position to respond as this economy rebounds. Also during this time I have served our community as a member of the College Township Council and a Junior High School wrestling coach for State High. I have served 10 years on Council and have also served on the Centre Region Council of Government's Code Committee, Public Safety Committee and Transportation Committee during my Council tenure. My Centre County upbringing and my involvement with the Centre Region issues gives me a unique perspective and the ability to serve you as an elected County Commissioner.
I already have the real-life experiences it takes to deal with different issues and work closely with all other elected officials in a positive, productive manner. I will make you no false promises. No one can, or honestly should, make fiscal guarantees given the current State and Federal budgetary crises. But I will promise you that if elected as Centre County Commissioners I will always act in the County's best interest, not my own.
